Description

Rugrats Royal Ransom is an action-adventure released in 2002 by THQ for the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube. The game is based on the Rugrats television series on Nickelodeon. The game's plot is loosely based on Rugrats: Castle Capers, except the castle is replaced with one of Stu's inventions.

Tommy's father, Stu Pickles, invents what he calls the Playpalace 3000. It is a giant expanding tower filled with rooms for the children to complete tasks in. At first Angelica is unamused but when Stu's dad, Lou Pickles, makes the remark, "...that tower looks fit for a queen," Angelica hatches a devious scheme. Stu leaves to go buy the finishing touches, duct tape and paperclips, an asks Lou to watch the kids. As always Lou falls asleep. Tommy, Chucky, Phil, Lil, and Kimi deide to play on the playpalace 3000, but Kimi notices that Angelica is at the top of the tower. Angelica says she is queen of the backyard and the baby's are her loyal suspecs. (subjects) and have to do whatever she says. Tommy tells her they would rather play something else so Angelica engages them by stealing their toys and Phil and Lil's worms. The baby's decide to fight for their toys, but to do that they must collect batteries to fix the machine and get to levels.

Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and Kimi are playable characters. First, to get inside, they must purchase the cost of 100 coins to get in. Games can be found in each zone, such as the jungle hut and the snow zone, and many games can be played, such as "Punting Papayas", "River Fun Run", "Ready, Set, Snow", "Monkey Business", and "Snow Place to Hide", among more. If players unlock enough big batteries, a new zone will be made. Also, they can earn "Funny Money" in the games to purchase mini-games.
